Everything you need to know to make your first sales. Nothing here is compulsory: take what feels like you. Every message has a 📋 button in the top right to copy it with one tap.
1. Your first sales will come from people who know you
That is rule number one, and it surprises everyone. No algorithm is going to bring you a sale in the first few days. Your first customers will be your family, your friends, your former colleagues, the mums from school, your neighbours.
The three-day plan:
- Day 1 — the list. Write down 20 names. No filtering, no “she won't like it”. Just 20 names.
- Day 2 — the messages. One individual message to each of them, never a group. You are asking for an opinion, not a sale.
- Day 3 — the gentle follow-up. To the ones who replied with interest but did not order: “there is an automatic −10 % at the moment, in case something caught your eye”. Nothing more.
Out of 20 messages, expect 6 to 8 replies and 1 to 2 purchases. That is normal. It is not a failure.
2. The opening message (customers)
Three versions depending on the person. Always personalise the first line with something that could only be meant for her — otherwise it smells of copy and paste.
Express versions — WhatsApp
Shorter than the ones below, to send in thirty seconds when you have not got time to personalise at length.
Express 1 — announcement
Hi there! I'm officially going for it: I've opened my jewellery shop, Alis Jewelry 💎
316L stainless steel, 925 silver and gold-plated, all hypoallergenic — made for sensitive skin that can't take ordinary costume jewellery.
The account: @alis.jewelry2026
The shop: alisjewelry.com
If you can follow me, it really helps me get started 🙏
Express 2 — asking for a share
Hello! A small favour to ask 🙏
I've just launched my hypoallergenic jewellery shop — stainless steel, 925 silver and gold-plated. It's all online: @alis.jewelry2026 and alisjewelry.com
I'm not asking you to buy anything — just to follow me and share a story if you like it. At this stage, that's what matters most to me.
Thank you so much ❤️
Express 3 — personal, one by one
Hi [First name], I hope you're doing well!
I wanted to tell you directly: I've launched my jewellery shop. I've been working on it quietly for months — 316L steel, 925 silver and gold-plated, all hypoallergenic.
@alis.jewelry2026 on Instagram, and alisjewelry.com for the website.
Honestly, I'm a bit nervous saying it out loud. If you follow and share, it would help me a lot ❤️
Version A — asking for an opinion (the most effective)
Hi [First name],
I'm starting something and I'd really love your opinion.
I've opened my jewellery shop, Alis Jewelry. The idea came from something very simple: so many women can no longer wear jewellery because their skin reacts. So I only work with three materials that don't cause problems: 925 silver, 316L stainless steel and gold-plated.
Could you take a look and tell me honestly what you think? The website, the photos, the prices — anything that jars helps me.
alisjewelry.com
Version B — through the question
Hi [First name],
I've got a slightly odd question: are you one of those people whose skin reacts to jewellery? Ears that burn, a finger that goes green, that sort of thing?
I'm asking because I've just opened my hypoallergenic jewellery shop, and that's exactly the problem I'm trying to solve.
alisjewelry.com
Version C — simple announcement
Hi [First name],
This time it's done, the shop is online. Alis Jewelry: hypoallergenic jewellery, for skin that can't take much.
I'm not asking you for anything, just that you have a look. And if you like it, a share would mean the world.
alisjewelry.com
Three rules: personalise the first line · don't mention the −10 % in the first message (that's your follow-up argument) · spread your messages across the day, not ten messages in five minutes.
The hardest part is the first five messages. Send them to the five easiest people to get yourself going.
3. Recruiting advisors by private message
Each sequence has two stages: an opener that says nothing about the jewellery (just enough to make her want to reply), then a reveal once she has said “yes, tell me”. Choose the pair that suits you best, or mix the styles.
Pair A — the little project
Opener
Hi [First name], it's been a while!
I started a little project recently and I thought of you — I reckon it could be right up your street.
Shall I explain if you're interested? 🤍
Reveal — direct and simple
So glad you're interested!
I've launched Alis Jewelry, a small hypoallergenic jewellery brand (perfect for sensitive skin). I'm looking for motivated people to show it on their social media — Insta, TikTok, Snap, whatever — at their own pace, from their phone.
In practice: a small starter kit at a reduced price, you resell at the normal price and keep the difference. I give you everything you need to post (photos, copy, tips).
Fancy a 5-minute chat about it, or would you rather do it in writing?
Pair B — the direct question
Opener
Hi [First name],
I've got a question for you: would you be up for a little project on the side, if the chance came along? 🤍
Reveal — personal, about the story
Brilliant!
Here's the idea: I've launched Alis Jewelry, hypoallergenic jewellery for skin that reacts to everything. And I'm looking for people to show it on their social media, at their own pace.
The principle: a starter kit, you resell at the normal price, you keep the margin, and I give you all the tools to post easily.
Shall I call you for 5 minutes, or would you rather I explained by message?
Pair C — curiosity
Opener
Hi [First name]!
I was thinking of you for something, I really think you'd like it. Have you got 2 minutes this week? 🤍
Reveal — short, action-focused
So glad you're interested!
It's Alis Jewelry — hypoallergenic jewellery. I'm looking for people to show it on their social media, at their own pace, with a small starter kit at a reduced price (you resell at the normal price and keep the difference). All the material is provided.
Shall we have a quick chat on the phone, or would you rather do it in writing?
Why it works: the opener says nothing about the substance, so there is no barrier to replying. The concept (kit, margin, social media) is not a secret to protect anyway — what makes the project valuable is the catalogue, the suppliers and the website behind it, and those are never laid out in a message.
4. Where to put the shop link
A bare link dropped into ten groups will get you banned before you sell anything. What works: bring something of value, and let the link follow.
Effective straight away:
- WhatsApp status — widely underestimated, and yet it is your warmest audience. A photo, a sentence, the link.
- Your personal Facebook profile — a real post, not a page share. Tell people why you started.
- 2ememain / Marktplaats — a few pieces listed, with the name of the shop. Local traffic, real buyers.
- Instagram and TikTok bio — the only clickable link you have on those platforms.
Effective but slower:
- Pinterest — the best long-term channel for jewellery: a pin keeps bringing traffic months later.
- Facebook groups (sensitive skin, nickel allergy, mums in your area) — read the rules first, take part before you post. Many allow self-promotion on one set day of the week.
To avoid: comments under other brands' posts, “follow for follow” groups, forums where you have never written anything. Zero sales, and a risk of being reported.
5. The arguments that sell
- Hypoallergenic. That is our difference, not a detail. Only three materials: 925 silver, 316L stainless steel, gold-plated. One woman in five reacts to nickel — for her, this is not a marketing argument, it is a solution.
- Automatic −10 %. No code to enter, the discount applies by itself in the basket.
- Free delivery from 50 €. Useful for nudging a 35 € basket upwards.
- Affordable prices. From 29,99 € in solid 925 silver.
6. Answering objections
“It's expensive” — Compare like with like: solid 925 silver at 30 €, that is in line with the market. The 8 € piece that goes green in three weeks costs more over a year.
“I'm afraid I'll be allergic” — That is exactly why the shop exists. No nickel in the materials used.
“I don't know the brand” — A normal reaction. Suggest she starts with a small piece.
“I'll think about it” — Don't push. Thank her, and come back once, a few days later. Pushing kills more sales than it makes.
Never promise what you cannot deliver: no engraving, no time frame you have not checked, no “it will never tarnish”. A disappointed customer costs more than a sale won.
7. The posting rhythm
Three posts a day, but only one is really compulsory.
- 8.00 — short, disappearing format (story): behind the scenes, a poll, a question. Quick to make, and it does not clutter your profile.
- 12.30 — the main post. If you only do one in the day, this is the one.
- 19.30 — short video: the same one on Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
Important: don't all post the same thing on the same day. Dip into the content bank in a different order, and adapt the words to the way you speak. Accounts posting identical content at the same moment see their reach collapse.
Always alternate text and photo. Never two text posts in a row.
8. What to know before you lose heart
The first three weeks are the hardest: few views, few replies, the feeling of talking into the void. That is everyone's experience, without exception.
What counts at the start is not the number of sales, it is consistency. One post a day for three weeks is worth more than ten posts over a weekend and then nothing.
And if nobody buys in the first week: that says nothing about you or about the jewellery. Twenty messages is a small sample.
A question, a doubt, a difficult customer? Write to me directly and we'll look at it together. — Alis
